What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to the site owners. Cookies can be persistent or session cookies: persistent cookies remain on your device after you close your browser, while session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, and web beacons, which serve similar purposes.

In plain language: a cookie is a tiny note your browser keeps so a website can remember something about your visit, such as a preference or a consent choice.

We use cookies to remember your preferences, understand how you interact with our content, and improve our editorial services. Cookies help us deliver a consistent experience across devices.

  • We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
  • All cookie use is aligned with our commitment to editorial independence and reader privacy.
  • PLAY OUTLOOK is not an online casino, gambling, or betting website.
Essential

Essential Cookies

Essential cookies are necessary for the website to function properly. They enable core functionality such as page navigation, secure areas, and accessibility features. These cookies do not require consent under most privacy laws, but we still list them for transparency. Examples include cookies that remember your cookie consent choice and maintain your session while browsing.

Analytics

Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use PLAY OUTLOOK so we can improve our content and user experience. We use privacy-respecting analytics that may set cookies to collect aggregated, anonymised data. Data collected includes pages visited, time spent on site, and referring sources. We do not use analytics cookies to identify individual users or for advertising purposes.

Preferences

Preference Cookies

Preference cookies allow the website to remember choices you make, such as language or region. These cookies enhance your experience by personalising content without tracking your activity across other sites. For example, they may remember your preferred reading font size or dark mode setting. You can disable preference cookies, but some features may not work as intended.

Consent

Consent Control Cookies

Consent control cookies record your cookie preferences and consent choices. These cookies are set by our consent management platform to remember whether you have accepted or declined specific cookie categories. They are essential for respecting your choices and ensuring we do not set non-essential cookies without your consent. Consent control cookies do not store personal information.

Managing Your Cookie Preferences

When you first visit PLAY OUTLOOK, a consent banner appears allowing you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the Cookie Settings link in the footer or by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site. The banner provides granular control over cookie categories, except essential cookies which are always active.

Tip: If you want to review your choices later, clear the cookies for playoutlook.com and reload this page. The consent banner will appear again so you can update your preferences.

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can usually find these settings in the Options or Preferences menu of your browser.

  • Block all cookies or only third-party cookies.
  • Delete existing cookies when you close the browser.
  • Set exceptions for specific sites you trust.
  • Review detailed instructions in your browser's help documentation.

Blocking essential cookies may prevent the website from functioning correctly.

Third-Party Cookies

PLAY OUTLOOK may use third-party services that set their own cookies, such as embedded content or analytics providers. We carefully select third-party services that align with our privacy values. Currently, we may use privacy-respecting analytics and embedded video players that set cookies.

Note: We do not use advertising networks or social media tracking pixels. Third-party cookies are subject to the respective third party's privacy policies.

Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. The current version was last updated on 6 October 2026.
